Director of Business Development

BioLineRx Ltd. (NASDAQ/TASE: BLRX) is a late clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology. The Company's business model is to in-license novel compounds, develop them through clinical stages, and then partner with pharmaceutical companies for further clinical development and/or co-commercialization. For that purpose, the Company is seeking a Director of Business Development, reporting to the Head of Business Development to lead the alliance management of its lead asset motixafortide, which is at the pre-launch stage in the US, and further its global commercialization partnering effort.
In addition, the role includes general support of business and corporate objectives.

Summary of Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Alliance management of external collaborations, especially the recently executed clinical development deal with Genfleet in China
  • Lead motixafortide commercialization effort in various geographies to maximize its value, including:
    • identifying and reaching out to potential partners
    • leading discussions to evaluate and prioritize geographic regions and prospects
    • negotiation and deal making
  • Work closely with BioLineRx’s R&D team and prepare relevant business-related materials
  • Cover operational and project management aspects of partnering efforts and lead relevant due diligence processes as required across the organization
  • Contribute to the generation of valuation models and financial valuation of commercialization opportunities

Job Requirements:

  • Education: MSc or PhD in Biology/Life Sciences or MD/DVM – required; clinical development experience/MBA - advantage
  • 6+ years of experience and track record in business development in the pharma industry, preferably in drug development
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Ability to build good relationships both internally and with external partners
  • Hands-on experience in the field of alliance management or BD&L (Business Development & Licensing), including creation of term sheets and license agreements; commercialization deal making experience is an advantage
  • Capable of analyzing and interpreting large amounts of information from a multitude of sources
  • Ability to condense complex data sets and present essential facts in a descriptive manner
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent team player with effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams to provide required deliverables
  • Pro-active and self-motivated with ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • English at mother-tongue level, Chinese is an advantage
