Director of Business Development and In-Licensing

BioLineRx Ltd. (NASDAQ/TASE: BLRX) is a late clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology. The Company's business model is to in-license novel compounds, develop them through clinical stages, and then either continue development up to approval and launch or partner with pharmaceutical companies for further clinical development and/or co-commercialization.
The Company is seeking a Director of Business Development and In-licensing, reporting to the Head of Business Development and Strategic Advisor, to lead in-licensing process aiming to replenish the company pipeline.

Summary of Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Lead in-licensing process and work closely with BD, R&D and clinical and commercial teams including search and evaluation, due diligence, and execution of transactions.
  • Build a business case for selected assets including product/market analysis, competitive analysis and financial modeling, risks/rewards identified, to establish business justification.
  • Job includes writing documents and presentations, keep track of internal and external discussions, and clearly communicate findings to Senior Leadership.
  • It is expected by the employee to keep up to date in the pharmaceutical industry and in-licensing methods and approaches.
  • Structure and negotiate term sheets and definitive agreement with an eye toward detail.
  • Develop and manage collaborative relationships across the organization and with potential partners and lead any post transaction integration activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Education: MSc or PhD in Biology/Life Sciences or MD/DVM – required; clinical development experience/MBA - advantage
  • 6+ years of experience and track record in business development in pharma drug development, must have at least 4 years of in-licensing experience in pharma, biotech, or tech transfer
  • Strong experience leading commercial and technical assessments and detailed financial valuation modeling of drug product transactions including licensing.
  • A highly analytical and strategic pharma thinker demonstrates a sense of appropriateness and excellent business acumen.
  • Prolific networker with strong existing connections within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Superior communication skills and an impressive ability to communicate with senior management and business development professionals across the industry.
  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail and ability to drive forward project from start to conclusion effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborative, transparent and ability to foster teamwork and deliver quality results under pressure in a dynamic environment within tight time constraints.
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to networking events, conferences, and target/partner sites in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Capable of analyzing and interpreting large amounts of information from a multitude of sources
  • Pro-active and self-motivated with ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • English at mother-tongue level
